Semi-Automatic
Mode is a combination of Manual settings and using the remainder of the
camera's Automatic calculations. In Semi-Automatic you may
set one or more manual settings and the camera will automatically set
the remaining settings for a good exposure. You must
throughly understand the operation of the manual settings and how the
camera will make the automatic adjustments.![]() The black silhouetted icons are pre-programed functions to automatically adjust your camera for a specific type of photograph scene. The bold text and rectangle are user set functions to enable "Creative image captures. Creative captures begin in the camera and often are completed with image editing software, but if you do not capture the artistic effect in the camera it is next to impossible to create it in software. |
Semi-Automatic Mode
= Full Automatic. This turns your camera into a full auto, point
and shoot camera. The only user functions left are pointing the
camera at the subject, composing the best image you can, and pressing
the shutter release button. P = Program (some automatics, some manual settings like ISO). Tv = Time value (Shutter Priority). You set the shutter speed and the camera sets the Aperture for a good exposure from the cameras' metering system. Av = Aperture value (Aperture Priority). You
set the Aperture opening of the lens (the amount of light available to
the photo sensitive device) and the camera automatically sets shutter
speed in accordance to the ISO setting). Any of the above will enable you to create photographic works of art. Something you will be proud to hang on your wall. |
