Scenic,
or Landscape, photography presents the most popular and artistic form
of all photography. With careful planning and through knowledge
of the camera you can capture stunning images you will be proud to
print and hang on your wall. Selecting the right location, the time of day, the lighting conditions, and your camera settings are all tools to help you capture that once in a lifetime image. In Landscape photography it is important to capture details in the shadows, bright areas, and medium lit areas of the scene. Composition of the image is next important, this is where you create your artistic work of art. You may compose the image using the Rule of 3rds, lines, and curves. You can use foreground elements to create frames like trees, windows, curtains, etc. There is no end to the creative process in landscapes, the main requirement for composition is to lead the eye to the central point of interest (not the center of the image).
